Shark Lagoon Nights: The public can view predators of the sea for free from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m almost every Friday until June 13th. Guests can touch bamboo sharks and observe sharks such as the sand tigers. Refreshments, including coffee, hot cocoa, beer, wine, deserts and other snacks, will be available for purchase.

Bubblefest XVIII
Preparate para el regreso de las burbujas, un show interactivo que se estará llevando a cabo en el Discovery Science Center. El científico en burbujas, Fan Yang estará haciendo artimañas con tan solo un varita mágica. También se puede aprender la ciencia detrás de las burbujas y hacer sus propios experimentos. La entrada incluye un Mega Bubblefest Laser Show.

Tamale eating time!
Riverside will be hosting it’s second annual Tamale Festival on Saturday, April 19th at White Park. Enter your tamales in the “Best Home Cook Contest”, or enter the Tamale Eating Contest! (Tamale Eating Contest is how many tamales you can eat in 5 minutes- last years winner ate 7! Entry fee is $20). Live Entertainment provided by David Mora and Conga Lovers, Jimmy Imperial Featuring Larry Sanchez, and Suave the Band! Kids can enjoy a special story time with local author, James Luna. The event will benefit the restoration and education outreach of the Spanish Town Heritage Foundation and Placita de los Trujillos. Festival de libros en Los Ángeles
La afamada escritora e ilustradora mexicana de libros infantiles, Yuyi Morales leerá su libro “Niño Wrestles the World”, Ademas, estará junto a la activista de derechos Dolores Huerta firmando copias de su libro “Harvesting Hope: The Story of Cesar Chavez (“Cosechando Esperanza: La Historia de César Chavez’). En el cuento infantil “Niño Wrestles the World”, Yuyi emplea tanto sus raíces mexicanas como las tradiciones de la luche libre y de los libros de historietas ilustradas para celebrar la niñez y la diversidad de las culturas.
Todo se llevará a cabo el sábado, 12 de abril en la tarima de cuentos infantiles del Festival de Libros del Los Angeles Times.
